Joanna Scott is an experienced management consultant with deep expertise in racial equity. She is the founder and principal of Stamey Street Consulting Group, LLC, and is a Senior Consultant with the Race Matters Institute of JustPartners, Inc. Joanna consults with organizations across the country to advance racial equity as a mission-critical goal. She has more than 15 years of experience in research, advocacy, government relations and organizational management. She is an experienced policy analyst in the areas of budget and tax policy, health, and nutrition, with an expertise on the intersection of race and equity in public systems. Joanna is a child advocate. She is passionate about children’s issues and is interested in the ways race show up in educational settings, particularly for young children. Joanna holds a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Asha Barber Sutton, PhD.
Asha B. Sutton is an experienced researcher and professor. She is also a licensed marriage and family therapist and approved marriage and family therapist supervisor. She approaches her research, students, and clients using a cultural competency framework. It is through her work that she seeks to conceptualize and analyze presenting challenges in a manner that acknowledges and advances racial equity. She has more than 10 years of experience as a researcher and clinician. She also has a background in analyzing policies that impact children’s health and child welfare/foster care experiences. Much of her research and clinical experience centers on understanding and improving the experiences of African American parents and children in social spaces. Asha holds a PhD. in Human Development and Family Studies from Michigan State University.
